My Role model
Hello classmates! Today I am going to talk about my
favorite teacher. If there's someone I admire, is teacher Faride Zerán. She's the most ethical journalist I've ever met and motivated me to be a good student.
Faride graduated as a journalist at the University of Chile and in her student years became an allendista. From 1971 and until the military coup of 1973, headed by General Augusto Pinochet, worked in the magazine Chile Hoy, that directed the Marxist theorist Marta Harnecker.
In 2007 Faride received the Nacional Journalism Award. This award is very important in Chile, and is only given to the most outstanding journalists. In addition Faride is the founder of the Institute of Communication and Image of the University of Chile, and served as director between 2003 and 2010.
Faride Zerán is my favorite teacher because she taught me the ethical limits that a journalist has. This is essential because journalism must be worked responsibly so it does not cause harm to people. She is my role model because I want to become someday a journalist as good as she.
